Before: A communication asks customers to go to a web page and gain access to their account, but the instructions are complicated and confusing. It takes actual work to figure out what needs to be done.
After: 1) Our first strategic move is telling customers merely to: “Complete your activation at this time.” 2) What they must do is simplified and made crystal clear. 3) Then the web page asks for only one thing, a 7-digit ID which we’ve already supplied. Our thinking on this resulted in a boost that indexed at 214, which means we more than doubled the engagement.
