Slippery Trafficking

Hello Fellow Marketer,

When I started my career at big ad agencies on Madison Avenue, I was surprised to find whole Trafficking departments. Traffic coordinators nudge and help projects flow more smoothly between account execs, creatives, and production.

Slippery Trafficking

I’ve taken the trafficking principle to heart, devising ways to keep things swiftly moving forward. For example, I’ll write reminders and put them on top of my keyboard so my workflow is blocked until I handle that time-critical task.

In my world, you’ll often see notes and objects located in doorways, pathways, and other unexpected places. I call it “slippery trafficking” because I’ll trip over those things unless they’re dealt with, so they can’t remain in that spot for long.

And of course, I’m in love with today’s awesome technology – sometimes it seems like all I do each day is to set and field calendar alerts and alarms.

Maybe I shouldn’t care so much, but I can’t stand the thought that something for which I’ve taken responsibility will ever be missing or late.

Best,
-Todd
