‌No detail shall fall through the cracks.

Hello Fellow Marketer,

Aside from big-picture issues, there are countless details to handle on every project. This is my system for ensuring that nothing falls through the cracks.

Nothing falls through the cracks

I made a form that’s divided into sections for the components of a project. Each section has 3 slots. While working, I stick Post-it notes into the spaces as follows...

1)

In the top position I use red Post-its for things to DO before the next stage, like “Add reply-by dates.”

2)

In the middle slot I use yellow Post-its for things to SAY when presenting, like “Notice how our call-to-action includes a benefit.”

3)

At the bottom I use red Post-its for things to do on DEPLOYMENT, like “Finalize placeholder links.”

As architect Mies van der Rohe said: “God is in the details.” And I’ll add: “So don’t forget any of them.”

Best,
-Todd
